Good to know

  • The file is fingerprinted in your browser. Its bytes never leave your device — only a hash is looked up.
  • Images re-encoded in transit — through chat apps, CDNs, or a screenshot — change their fingerprint and won't match. Use the per-asset link from the image's Content Credentials to verify those by identity instead.
  • Assets made before the ledger launched can be verified by link, but their byte fingerprint may still be pending.
